I would like to say thats its possible...i've been playing r6 seige and i had a ping of 230..cause i libe in Mauritius and when i used a vpn to connect to a singapore server..my ping dropped to 85..so yeah vpn works!

This is one of those things people have to test for themselves. In theory the vpn should always make the ping higher because of the overhead but that only applies if the path the data takes is the same.

It all depends how well someone ISP is connected to the rest of the ISP in the world. If the path between your ISP and the game company ISP does not follow a optimum route a vpn might help. The main problem is finding a VPN service that your ISP is connected to very well and then that VPN service has a better connection to the game company ISP.

This tends to be very complex because there are so many ISP involved and there are so many different game companies and server locations.

This tends work best for people that live in countries connected via long fiber runs to other countries. VPN does not help as much for people that are using game servers in their own country or between well connected countries like the EU.
