I have a few questions about this combo:

1. What kind of temps can I expect on stock?
2. Is it possible to overclock on this cooler, to about 4.5GHz on all cores, for example?

Solution
The 212 evo is a good cooler but don't expect miracles in terms out its performance while overclocking-the h7 is better but not by much.

If you have already bought the 212 just give it a go and see how it performs. If not maybe consider a higher end solution especially if you really want to push your system.

That won't have an issue cooling the 8600k at all. I would expect max in the 60s full load at stock if everything is set up right in a decent case.

I have no idea how well they overclock, but it could probably handle that if the processor can.

It's not a top-tier cooling solution but more than enough for stock or casual overclocking.
