will games ask for six cores and 8 cores in the next 2 years?? or i will be ok with my 4770k for the next 2 years?

and when do you believe that it wii be nessesary to update in new cpu??

will i see any proovement in fps if i will update my 4770K to 8700K?

You will most certainly be fine for several years to come, especially since you have OC'ed the CPU to 4.5GHz. Not worth the upgrade at the moment purely for gaming. You did not mention your GPU - if you have anything below 1080Ti you will get more performance by upgrading the GPU than the CPU.

Be aware that you would need to upgrade your motherboard and ram also, to upgrade your 4770K.

Only the game developers can answer your questions pertaining to any future developments.
Your other questions depend on the rest of your system. Complete system specs would help us determine the answers.

1. Today, only a few games actually need 4 threads to run.
Most can effectively use only 2-3 threads.
You can find out how many threads YOUR games of today actually need with this experiment:

You can do this in the windows msconfig boot advanced options option.
You will need to reboot for the change to take effect. Set the number of threads to less than you have.
This will tell you how sensitive your games are to the benefits of many threads.
If you see little difference, your game does not need all the threads you have.

2. Game developers want the largest possible market for their games; they do not want to produce a game that requires a large amount of threads to run. They would limit their market if they did.

3. When you find a game that is limited by your cpu, that is the time to upgrade.
If you defer an upgrade, you are likely to have availability of better price/performing parts available.

4. 8700K with an overclock like 5.0 will play some games noticeably better.
Those types would be sims, mmo and strategy games which depend on the performance of the single master thread.

If you have the funds and the itch to upgrade, go ahead scratch that itch.
8700K(or recently announced I7-8086K) is currently the best gaming cpu around.

if you were in my position and you had 4770K would you upgrade in something new cpu?

If you have an adequate GPU, you should know if you are happy *now* with current framerates...

Upgrade when you feel you current rig is no longer supplying adequate frame rates for the games *you* play, not when someone tells you that you need to.

If your GPU is slow, you are likely to be unhappy no matter what CPU you have...; for instance, an i5-6500 and an i7-8700K both likely saturate a GTX1050 at 1080P/ultra and give similar average framerates... Put a GTX1080 in the 8700K, and now you've potentially tripled your framerates, and you are ready for 1440P or 2160P. (But, even that might be wasted if you have a 60 Hz monitor...; lots of things to consider)

Hard to know the exact frames and it depends on other factors but the 8700k will give the best performance by quite a bit.

If all you are doing is gaming then I don't think it is worth the upgrade the 4770k is still plenty powerful enough to run AAA games at acceptable FPS for at least a year or two. if you were video rendering or running multiple applications at the same time where you needed the extra cores for the added workload, I'd say go for it. for games, you are good to go. The added cost won't be worth the performance upgrade at moment, I'd wait it out.

first Cannon Lake 10 nm will arrive and the Coffee Lake?

or the Coffee Lake will arrive first and then the Cannon Lake 10?

so what is the best to update in to Cannon Lake or Coffee Lake? ?

when the day comes for these 2 Cannon Lake and Coffee Lake

do you think that Cannon Lake will be more powerfull than Coffee Lake?
In 2019 what will be release?? cannon lake or another architecture?

I have a 4790K at 4.9GHz. I am not bottlenecking anything and the performance is still amazing,

You don't need to upgrade, the 4770K is still an amazing CPU and very capable. Wait till the 10th gen CPUs come out then ask again.

Probably a 30% increase at 1080P....

Most want the 1080Ti for 1440P or above, or 1080P at 144 Hz....; for 144 Hz goals, the 8700K (and it's new 8086K cousin) are the prime CPUs...

ahhhhhahahahaha.

30% increase? You're insane. Most games won't even use all 6 cores and they care way more about single threaded performance than core count.

You can get 4k60 or even 1440p 144hz on a 4770K.

What are you, Intel's marketing team?

Ahhhh it's Mr. I have an ego the size of a planet!...As I am on your side as the the video states it is NOT worth the upgrade!!!! More importanly, this is a snapshot to showcase the CPU's removing the bottlenecks...again, he also highlights the numbers with the 1070 as well...Thinking you are better or that my contribution is of no worth lacks any manners on how to have a sensible discussion...period!

I know, I watched the video, but it's still an unfair comparison. The numbers will have much less of a gap with something like a 1060 or 1070.

It's not my ego that's large, it's my pe...never mind. Gotta keep it PG here on Tom's.
