I recent'y purchased a amd 7 1700X. I stream with one pc and I get frame drop in my streaming program. The 1700X is amazing for streaming so I am wondering why it is having framedrops on my stream.

My specs:
AMD Ryzen 7 1700X

ASUS ROG STRIX B350-F

Kingston 8GB Kit DDR4 2400Mhz HyperX

Thermaltake Smart RGB 600W PS

Running windows 10

What could be the problem, I'm using streamlabs obs

Streamlabs OBS roughly doubles the CPU load on my 7700k compared to standard OBS. I suggest you monitor CPU usage in both versions using the same settings, if that doesn't get you anywhere then it could be your internet connection.

What are you streaming; if it is a game, what are the games RAM requirements?

Is 8GB enough to run everything without the OS resorting to pagefile (which slows everything down and may cause dropped frames).

I would turn pagefile off and see what happens; if you get a Low Memory warning while streaming, get another 8GB module.

Toms own streaming review used 16GB to 32GB on their test boards. https://www.tomshardware.co.uk/game-streaming-encoding-coffee-lake-ryzen,review-34144-2.html

My internet would be able to stream 1080p 60 fps but its just something in my pc restricting it. I usually stream at 720p 60 fps but while streaming things like fortnite or csgo the stream drops down to about 48 and then goes back up again so it just makes it look really rough.

Streamlabs only ever uses 3% of my cpu or lower when streaming games
