Memory compatibility reverse search?

I bought 32GB (4 dimms) of Corsair CMY16GX3M2A1600C9R many moons ago for my Gigabyte Z97X Gaming GT.
Sadly the CMY16GX3M2A1600C9R is not on the Gigabyte supported dimm list.

Rather than just sell the four CMY16GX3M2A1600C9R, is there a way to search what other motherboards the Corsair dimms could be used in?

In my situation, I was upgrading a 4th gen i3 with some more memory for an office machine. I took the model number off the existing Samsung 1333mhz chips so I could google up some of the same. I found some, and in my haste didn't verify that one letter was off, and was registered RAM which neither of my (then current) mobo would handle. I actually have another 4th gen chip that will (just by luck), but don't know what mobo I would be able to find at this point worthwhile to use. My desire to find out has more to do with marketing and selling these open, but basically unused 8gb sticks. The site I purchased from also had a no return policy I didn't notice. Fine print sucks, lol.

Did you try using them with that motherboard? Just because it's not on the QVL list for that mobo doesn't mean it won't work, they probably just never tested those sticks with that mobo.

I've used two different kits with my current mobo, neither were on the QVL list and both worked perfectly.

Mine won't work in the MB but some Corsair XMS3 2000MHz Dimm do. Sadly they are only 4GB each and i want 32GB.
There are not on the supported dimm list either.

I've never had dimms that would not work in a board.
I wish i had bought an Asus motherboard instead.

Thanks TJ, I had a lot of fun in the beginning because when i first started the PC up. I had it connected to a 4K display via the built-in DisplayPort connector. A9 was displayed (on the MB) which means it is at the setup screen. I couldn't see it though.

The RAM brought up a C0 code on the motherboard with all four dimm slots populated the next day. I'll try one or two slots to see if it will work.

Wait, the kit you posted is only two sticks, are you trying to combine it with a different kit? That can cause issues all on its own, regardless of whether each kit is compatible with your mobo individually. I would definitely try the new kit on its own to see if that works.

I took a closer look at the individual dimms and noticed one pair are version 4.xx and the other pair are version 5.xx.
I swapped the banks around so the channels matched and now i have 32GB of ram.

Thanks all for the help and suggestions.
