So I bought a new pc and it has Asrock AB350 Gaming K4 with ryzen 5 1600x
And Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB DDR4-3000MHz ram.
So I go to BIOS and the ram was at auto and only 2133 mhz so I pick xmp 2.0 profile 1 and I save and exit. Then the PC started boot loop and I tried to get back to BIOS and managed to get it to auto again. Are there any damages to any component on my PC or is it ok? ( My PC works but I don't know if there are damages) And since ryzen needs fast memory what do I do.
Thanks

Hello!

OK, there are a few questions here, so lets unpack them.

1. Most motherboards that offer XMP will allow you to set a profile, once the profile is set the machine will restart and apply the profile. If the memory is capable of the speed offered by the profile you selected the machine will boot and you'll be able to use Windows/Linux as normal. however if there is a problem the machine will enter a reboot loop lasting 3 or 4 reboots. It will then reset to the default setting.

This is a failsafe function, should your memory not work with the automated XMP profile. XMP is still technically an overclock and not all RAM will be able to operate at the highest possible speed in all motherboards with CPU's. In some cases a...
Update the BIOS to the latest version, then try setting to XMP again.

I doubt anything is damaged, but if you want to be sure you can run memtest86 to make sure the RAM is fine. I think if there was any problem with anything else it would have showed up by now.

This is a failsafe function, should your memory not work with the automated XMP profile. XMP is still technically an overclock and not all RAM will be able to operate at the highest possible speed in all motherboards with CPU's. In some cases a firmware/bios update for the motherboard can fix these issues.

2. Ryzen does not "need" fast RAM, but it benefits from faster RAM and does so to a much greater extent than Intel CPU's.

3. It doesn't look like your machine has suffered any damage. It looks like you selected an XMP profile, and the computer could not run the profile in a stable manner. it rebooted a couple of times to check, then reset the profile back to its default value. You could always download a BIOS update for your motherboard, apply it and retry the XMP setting once more. However do bear in mind that XMP is still an overclock, and its stability will be limited to whatever your CPU/motherboard/RAM can manage.
