Hello fellow people,

I hope you can help me out with a problem that I have put off for too long. I own a gaming PC with:
A GTX 1050ti
AMD Athlox X4 880k - 4 cores
16GB Ram
I can list more if you need it

It has come to my attention that this supposivley good build is under performing like in some games I can get a solid 90fps when in others it stays around 10-20fps. For example in Payday 2 I will obtain above 80fps solidly and then games like Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege I will get 20fps. I understand that these games (R6) are hard to run for most people but sometimes after a good clean on my PC it will give out around 40 fps then slowly degrade back to 20fps. I am not sure if this a Hardware problem or a Software problem so it would be grat if you could give me some pointers.

Have you check your system temperatures (CPU, GPU & motherboard)?
Overheating could make your system to under-perform.
What PSU do you have?

I will do some checks tomorrow and get back to you as its 23:35 but I often use MSI Afterburner which it usually is pretty cool. Also im not sure what my power supply is and i cant check but i can try searching around.

Open your PC case, If your system is dusty, well, you should clean it, it affects performance. But they are many factors that make your computer under-performed. Check your RAM physical memory usage when idle, if it's too high, you got a problem. Is your CPU Overclocked? If it is not, maybe it isn't the problem. But when it is, well that's a problem too, because when overclocking CPU's, system is not stable and may cause high-voltage and make your PC switched off by itself.
