Hi, new here i have a hp dv6-2010sa
Insydeh20 v3.5 motherboard
My problem is bios will not recognise hdd i keep getting a error 3FO hdd not found. I have installed windows 10 via dvd drive attaching a hdd caddy. Works fine via that. Downside i lose a dvd drive. After searching on net i read somewhere the issue may be due to not having legacy support on bios.
How do i get this on there if at all possible.

Or could it be something else.

Appreciate any help out there please
Thank you in advance

If there is no secure boot, then the legacy support is enabled by default and you can't change it, your PC should be able to recognise external boot devices. The problem might be the HDD or the Connection itself. Why don't you try connecting the HDD via USB?
Also post a picture of your BIOS/UEFI...

Does your EUFI/BOIS detect the HDD? (display the name in boot devices menu/loader). Try live booting a linux via USB and see if the HDD gets detected. The error 3FO could mean that the HDD is corrupt or the OS is corrupt but since you said any HDD is not working in the port, it could also mean that the SATA port is damaged..

Secure Boot Configuration is a new feature of the Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) in BIOS 8 that helps a computer resist attacks and infection from malware. When a computer is manufactured, UEFI created a list of keys that identify trusted hardware, firmware, and operating system loader code.

Your 2011 model:
1) does not appear to have a UEFI BIOS
2) supports Windows 7 and does not have any support for Windows 10
3) too old to support Secure Boot

You should be getting your drivers from the Notebook manufacturer. Your hard drive is likely not recognized as the Notebook has no Windows 10 SATA driver.
