Been a while I posted on Tom's website.
Hello all!

I've recently bought a new TV, LG OLED 55".
This one has WebOS 3.5.

I'm mostly streaming through the SmartShare app which I had to install on my PC.
This makes it possible for me to stream everything from PC to the TV, including subtitles.

Now, as I only have about 500GB of storage in PC, you can imagine with couple of AAA+ titles of games, the storage runs empty quite fast.

Thus Im looking for the best NAS which can stream its media to my TV.

TL;DR: What do you suggest as the best NAS around at this moment for the LG OLED55C7V (WebOS 3.5).
It needs to stream media, including .srt files, to my TV. It probably needs DLNA..

Thanks!

The three big names in home NAS are QNAP, Synology and Thecus. Asustor is an up and coming brand. Your budget will determine. For a home steaming unit, a two disk unit like a Synology DS218j or DS216se should be enough. I don't recommend a single drive chassis because the cost of the chassis is about the same as a two disk chassis.
All the brands I listed are "BYOD" (bring your own disk) units. They are purchased without disks and you can put whatever disks you chose in them.

So will the NAS be recognized by my LG without configuration? Also its contents, like the media Ive put in via my Desktop PC?

Yes, all of the commercial NAS units I mentioned will act as a DLNA server. They will also do a lot more. Go to synology.com or qnap.com and look at the features in their software. They have had online demos of their software you can play with.
