Asus H97I-Plus. Maximum no. of SSDs supported?

You'd think I could find this after a few minutes Googling, but I didn't! My incompetence at Googling stuff, I have no doubt.

Can anyone tell me how many internal connectors (SATA 3 ports I guess???) this M/B has for adding SSDs (all Samsung Evo 850s or 860s)? I tried opening up the PC (midi format), but the CPU cooler and wiring makes it hard even to see the motherboard, let alone see anything meaningful on it.

4 SATA ports and 1 M.2 port that supports both SATA and PCIe drive.

So, 4 x SATA SSD's.
5 if you put in an m.2 drive.

I think that I should not connect an Evo 860 to the M2 port - the Evo doesn't support M2 I thought? Or have I got that wrong somehow?

Evo 860 exist in both forms. But if you have SATA version, then you cannot connect it to M.2 port.
