Hi! I am planning to build a new gaming PC. I have primarily selected Ryzen 5 2600 cpu with Aorus X470 Gaming 7 mobo. My question is whether 16 GB DDR4 3000 MHz RAM would be sufficient for gaming or 3200 MHz is better option.
while i'd agree with vapour, for Ryzen, the effects of faster ram taper off after 2933mhz. The biggest benefit is from 2133/2400 to 2933 where the performance benefit can be as much as 15-20% task dependant. In this case the difference between 3000/3200 is barely 2-5%. Getting the 3000mhz DIMMS if the price is cheaper is a good play.

With that memory frequency spread (3000 to 3200) timings are important, very often 3000MHz at lower latency (Cl12 -Cl14) will have better performance than 3200 at Cl16 -Cl18.
