MSI B150 Gaming M3: can it accept higher bus speeds?

Hey guys,

As the title suggests I have a MSI B150 Gaming M3 motherboard with 2 X 4GB 2133Mhz RAM. I want to upgrade to 2X8GB 3200Mhz ram but can't find anywhere that says it supports that bus speed.

Long story short, I'm wondering if I'd be able to use the 3200Mhz ram for the motherboard.

The 100 series chipsets (excluding Z170) were limited to 2133MHz IIRC. Might've been 2400MHz, but I think that came with the 200 chipsets.

You'd be able to use the 2x8GB 3200MHz kit, but only at the JEDEC standard 2133MHz.
If the 16GB upgrade makes sense, look for the cheapest 2x8GB kit. No sense spending the extra money if you can't utilize the speeds.
