Advice on PC game system for daughter

Its been a while since I put a system together for myself. My 15yr old daughter is interested in pc gaming, and her birthday is coming up in a couple months. Planning to put together a system for her.
Hoping to come under 1K. She does not need a 64core with 2TB or RAM, but would be nice to have a system she can have for a while (Win 10 is my target - she wants windows, has Mac and does not use it for gaming at all - uses my box which is annoying now).
She has been playing multiple games off steam, origin, etc. So I assume not just Minecraft here.

Case, power supply, kb, mouse, all easy.
What I would love advice on is mboard, CPU, and GPU.

Questions:
1. Is AMD good for system (mboard/CPU/APU)?
2. What GPU card would you recommend?
3. Whats the best/cheapest way to get Win 10 x64 (pref not home) these days?

I know folks out there that will comment both ways, but if you can provide guidance on mboard, CPU/APU, and video card, would be great. Planning on DIY box, not a fully assembled one where I have limited expansion options. I want a clone box that will be great for gaming.

HERE IS MY TEMPLATE FOR HARDWARE - FEEL FREE TO PUT IN YOUR SELECTION:

1. MBOARD: ~~~
2. CPU/APU: ~~~
3. RAM: ~~~
4. HDD: ~~~ prefer SSD but open to platter since for DT. Price/performance decent compromise here (maybe can hit 1TB).
5. VidCard: ~~~ was thinking AMD, but open to nVidia
5. Case: ~~~
6. Pwr Sup: ~~~
7. KB: ~~~
8. Mouse: ~~~
9. Monitor: ~~~
10. Speakers: ~~~

Thank you very much for help.

3. RAM: ~~~ 16gb kingston hyper-x fury ddr3
4. HDD: ~~~ there are thousands of options
5. VidCard: ~~~ msi gtx 1060 3gb
5. Case: ~~~ again, thousands of options, just make sure its an atx case, not micro atx or midi atx... just pick the one you like
6. Pwr Sup: ~~~hundreds of options, try to get at least a 600w one
7. KB: ~~~ASUS CERBERUS
8. Mouse: ~~~Logitech Proteus Spectrum G502
9. Monitor: ~~~ hundreds of options, try to get a 1080p one though

I wont give you a devote, but I have to disagree with the CPU and therefore of course also MOBO and RAM..

Please dont buy any of the FX-Series chips. They are just very much outdated and not very good for gaming.

If he wants a nicely build PC for under 1k, he can still go for a nice Ryzen PC, which will have better FPS and wont cost too much.

i suppose so... but a decent set of speakers, a good monitor, good mouse and keyboard your budget for the pc will be about £700, but now that i think of it DDR4 ram is a better option and Ryzen is a good idea.
