Beeping sound when installing a secondary ram to my laptop?

google the laptop model number and the words "beep codes" and see what the beeps mean.. the beep codes are diagnostic tools, different patterns means a different device is at issue.
for instance my no RAM beep code is three short beeps, pause, three short beeps, repeat
