My GTX 1070 was working fine and then the next day I downloaded the 398.11 driver update on Geforce experience. After the installation I restarted my PC and when running Overwatch I would get 15 fps on ultra setting and my GPU was at 100% even when I closed games. I rolled back the drivers but the same problem happened.

Have you created any restore points in windows? Removing the mb battery and placing it back in could help. Make sure that the device is not overheating and is oon stock clocks.

What do you mean by MB battery? I uninstalled all the drivers again and reinstalled the previous driver that I knew worked but this time it didn't even work for a few hours it just immediately had the same problem. It seems my GPU temps are higher than normal as well idling around 60° C and during Gameplay at around 73 degrees Celsius.

1. Download DDU.
2. Boot into safe mode in Win7 or Win10. (NOTE dont run if your Win 10 build is higher than 1703)
3. Run DDU
3.1 "Remove Geforce Experience"
3.2 "Clean and Restart"
4. Boot back into normal windows.
5. Install original drivers.

I also have a 1070 and have been running the 388.00 driver since I got the card.
Tried the 398.11 driver and had issues too in games running in ultra settings.
