Asrock X370 not recognizing mic

Hello there, i just built my new system and installed my Asrock x370 taichi mobo but right when i started gaming i noticed that my headset's mic wasn't being recognized. I checked the UEFI setting and made sure that the Front panel audio was enabled and set to HD. Tested the mic on another PCs and phones and it worked fine there.Anyone got any idea what's wrong here?

Have you checked your microphone in "Control Panel > Sound > Recording" to see if that device is enabled?

The headset comes up as an output device there but not as a recording device.

Right click one of your Recording devices and make sure "Show Disabled Devices" and "Show Disconnected Devices" is check-marked.

Have you tried plugging it into the back-panel to see if it works there?

If i plug it in as a mic, i can see it in the recording devices but it's reallllyyy low no matter how high i set the volume level. One of my friends also noticed that when i plug i5 in on the front panel as a mic, he can hear my pcs in-game sounds like shooting,etc but notmy voice.

Do you have the Realtek HD Audio Manager in your taskbar? You probably need to configure your setup in there. Your motherboard has a built in, high end digital amplifier.

I am not sure myself, i have never used it. According to ASRock, "Purity Sound 4 is a combination of several hardware, software audio solutions". Does your motherboard have a CD with software for the Purity Sound hardware?

It did come with a cd but since i don't have a cd bay i downloaded them
