My motherboard: GIGABYTE GA‑78LMT‑S2
CPU I want to buy: AMD FX-9590 Eight-Core
Will they work together? (my current cpu is an AMD FX-4300 Quad-Core)

9590 is a 220W cpu, the motherboard will not support it and maybe even burn out the cpu socket or VRM. Choose one of the 95W cpu FX 8300, 8320E, or 8370E

There are VERY few boards that can take that chip; it draws 2 1/2 times as much power as your board is rated for, and nearly double what most other boards can handle.

FX8370 is it according to GB's own website.
