I need help with CDs

I want to do a backup recovery image to a CD ( I don't have any USB drive available) and I put the CD to my PC and nothing pops up and I don't see it.
I use windows 10

What are you actually trying to back up?

And how are you doing that? You don't just put a CD in the drive and sit there waiting for something to happen on it's own. Also not a good idea to use CDs, use DVDs instead, a Windows 10 backup to CDs would take quite a few disks.

A USB stick large enough for a Windows 10 backup is easily available and cheap.
