So this question might be a little more specific than the title.

I accidentally hit the side of my PC and with mild blunt force.

Everything seems to be in working order.

How does hardware damage work? Does it always provide fatal problems, GPU or CPU not working or could there be subtle problems like certain things stuttering etc. I assume hat if something was damaged I would 100% know about it?

with pc it depends on the force. as a tech i seen from ram pop out of slots to ram breaking ram clips. to video cards and extra cards on mb pop out of of there slots. too cpu that have been ripped off mb during my tech years. the cpu ripped off the mb were from bad shippers tossing the poor pc. in real life a small drop or hit most time wont do anything if your lucky. the part that is weakest in a pc is the hard drive. they dont like to be shocked dropped or hit. running there vendor test tools after a drop and listing to the drives can tell you if you bent the spindle arm on a drive...click or tapping noise. with other part in the pc power the pc down and give them a slight push in. if they have moved they will go back into place.
