I got new pc build, but I wanted it with my old psu, I have fractal design focus g as a case, but my be quiet l8 500w has awful cables, I can’t do anything about it, is it just me or I need to buy new PSU?
There’re so many wires, tried many times to fit them and connect to mobo- nothing works

If you want to really go to town on this build and really make it pretty, I'd consider going for a modular PSU. This can really help if you find yourself getting tight on space.

Modular PSU's have no cables plugged into them to begin with and come supplied with a a pack of cables that you plug into the PSU as required. That way you only plug into the PSU what you need for your particular PC and you can keep the rest in a box somewhere handy should you decide to upgrade a component or add a part.

The one thing you havent mentioned is your PC spec, its difficult to recommend an upgrade without knowing the components the PSU will be powering and there is also a chance the the 500w PSU may be under-powered for the newly upgraded machine you now own.

That psu is definitely capable of working with your new PC. If you can't figure out which cable goes where I recommend reading a guide on building a PC or something. I can see the 20+4 pin connector that's supposed to go to the motherboard sticking out in the bottom left corner of your second picture.

That being said, if you're wanting to clean things up and get rid of unnecessary cables, you have to get a new, modular PSU.

Dude, I know how to connect the wires to the mobo, the point is I can’t figure what way I have to manage them since I have 4 cables which I do not need. And the 24 pin cable is short so I barely stick it in if I land it through the back case panel. I need a new module psu, but idk which one to buy.

Greetings Samurairage,

Have a look at this PSU. Check and see if it has sufficient connections for your needs too. It has a few extra watts should you want to upgrade a component in the future too.

With respect to cables being too short though You may be interested in a cable mod cable extensions kit like this one....

You could also contact cablemod who may be able to provide you with a specific set of cables for your needs! :)
