Hi, I'm new to the forum. I have a brand new pc built. And I'm new to pc building. My specs are AMD-fx 9590, 32bg ram, GPU: Nvidia GTX 750 ti

my mobo is gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P rev 02.

my cooler is Artic liquid I think, my PSU is EVGA 750 BQ.

BTW I've ran a memory test and ram seems to be doing fine.

Your motherboard is supposedly compatible with the FX9000 series.

What power supply do you have?

AMD recommend 850W - 1000W.

What CPU cooler do you have, you probably need to be looking at some liquid cooler.

If you want to test your other components (mobo etc), get your hands on a cheap CPU and so a full stress and memory test.

So your CPU is not listed on the motherboard compatibility list.
This CPU is a 220W beast, your Motherboard was designed fro 125-150W CPU.

I am not surprised that your chipset is getting hot.

You really should have a GA-990FXA-UD3 as your motherboard.

I don't know how much you can under clock, but yes you need to get your motherboard current (and power) way down.

So you can try that, but you are no longer driving your CPU to its potential.

You should either sell the CPU or the Mother board and buy a corresponding partner.

If it was me I would go for the new motherboard and sell the current one.

thx man, I will under-clock for now then, any tutorial you can recommend me? I will have to use this mobo for now because I received this gear as a gift xd. I'm planning on getting me a Ryzen 5 2400 in the future though I might have to get me a lesser set up first ;(

I would drop your CPU max frequency to 4GHz for a start.

I am not an expert in over clocking, I don't know how much control that motherboard will give you.

If that doesn't work then you will have to swap either the motherboard or the CPU.

It is only a matter of time before your motherboard fails.

Hi again friend, sorry to bother you but, I'm here to tell you that I failed at underclocking that thing, no config could make it stable. I had to reset it back to defaults. So I wanted to ask you which mobo do you recommend me buying for my Fx-9590?
and should I keep that 750 PSU? And which Processor do you recommend me for that little spare mobo? Thx for the help BTW

Hi fellow, I've got new updates on my mobo, I bought a sabertooth 990 fx rev 3 but now I can't even boot up the bios, I'm getting desperate and clueless, I don't even know what parts to replace anymore. RAm and GPu seemed just fine. I would hate it if the cpu is broken

I mentioned all my specs in the OP. (my cooler is Arctic Liquid and my PSU is a 750 EVGA BQ). Yeah sadly I think I might give up on that fx9590. I'm gonna look for some fx8000's because I don't wanna waste those precious mobos. But today was very sad indeed, I finally thought that sabertooth was gonna solve everything. Thx anyways man, cheers.

PD: I will try to get me a 900w PSU or something in hopes of finding a cure to this curse and before buying that fx8000's
