Overheat i7 3770

Hello. I just bought an i7 3770 and it runns at 72°C/161°F in bios/ idle. What could be the cause ? Shoud return it ? When i start windows is ok starting anny ap/browser restart and whea uncorrectable error .

Even with Intel's stock cooler being properly mounted you would not reach that high idle temps on the i7-3770 ;)

 
You have to understand that i7 is way powerful than an i3 and so produces a little more heat, but 72 at idle is too much. So, if its new, i would advice you to ask for a replacement and when you are at it, get a decent air cooler, it wont cost much. And also get a good thermal paste: i use and recommend the coolermaster mastergel maker or you can get the MX4.
