I currently have 12 GB budget ddr3. I just built my first pc, I have a gigabyte z77, an i5 2500k, an evga 600w, and a 1050ti. I'm looking to upgrade my ram to 16 GB and to do a little bit of overclocking. I am looking for some recommendations on whether I should buy a 2x4gb kit to replace my 2x2gb, 4x4gb and replace all of it, 2-4 separate 4gb sticks, 2 separate 8gb sticks or a 2x8gb kit and pull out the budget ddr3. What would be most cost effective?
Ps. I'm going used to cut down on costs, so Ebay is probably going to be my go to.
Pps. My budget at the moment and low impulse control might make it difficult to buy it all at once, so depending on the price, I may be buying some now and some later.

Would it be worth it to buy 2x4gb now and 2x4gb later? I would replace all of the ram currently inmy case at the same time, I'm just too broke to spend the $60 on ram right now.
