When gaming, monitor randomly says "no signal" for one second then display turns back on

When I play Borderlands or Cuphead my signal will randomly stop about once every ten minutes for about 1 second. When the display turns back on there are no signs of the previous issues. This doesn't happen when I play more graphically intense games like Witcher 3 and Dark Souls III. I've reformatted and installed the driver but that hasn't fixed the issue. What is likely to be causing this?

Hello,

I'm not very familiar with the games you are referring to so my suggestions won't be based of off the games. Firstly, make sure your cable you're using from your GPU to your monitor is snug. If using DVI cable I recommend using the two screws on the side of each adapter to secure the cable. Secondly what type of monitor do you play on?
