Is it a good idea to clean a GPU with a Q tip to loosen dust, then blast the lose dust off with compressed air?

Title basically, upgraded my CPU which was bottlenecking my GPU and now it's running a lot hotter, so I'm gonna try cooling it

I typically use an old toothbrush, but I don't see any issue with using a Q-Tip. Just make sure, when using the compressed air, that you do not allow the fan to spin freely.
