Hello,
I need experts' opinion on this build. My budget is as this build suggests (850-900$ very roughly, I have to calculate in Hungarian Forint, there will be price differences), it cannot be any more expensive, but if there are better alternatives, I would like to know. I want a gaming pc which would be reliable for years to come. It doesn't have handle everything on ultra, but it has to provide a decent, fluid gaming experience for a long time.

Please tell me if this is a good build or if there are any better alternatives in this exact price range. I do not mind a complete other build from scratch if this is not that good, but please remain in price range strictly. I am a complete moron when it comes to building a PC, this was suggested by a friend of mine. My savings depend on your kind help.

Thank you!

Solution
For gaming, vote for the first build
For multitasking vote for the second. The R5 1600x is better at multitasking in general. I have a suggestion though: If you get the second system, get an R5 1600, it has a stock cooler.
skip everything except the ram(you're 1-2 years behind) try to get this

i5 8400(has more cores than that i7)
z370
(cooler to your liking , cryorig be quiet scythe are good)
ram , yours is fine
1050 ti
samsung 850 evo 250gb
add 1 tb later (plug and play)
good powersupply like seasonic / corsair cx(450-550w)

The gtx1050Ti is barely gonna hold for 3 more years. Instead, get an i5 8400 with a gtx1060 and get only 8GB of RAM as prices are very high now. Also, get a decent 550w PSU, like the TX550M or sth like that. If your budget is very tight, you should wait a bit more. The new GPU lineup is on the way, so in less than a year or so the prices will be balanced.

I'm pretty sure Chieftec PSU's are fire hazards but someone with a bit more experience may want to say something. Unfortunately I couldn't find a review for that model.

Needless to say don't cheap out on a PSU, it is the most important part of your build.

I understand that, but I really do not want to cheap out on RAM. I do want a gaming PC, but I use the internet and multitask quite heavily on a daily basis, too, for which I assume I need RAM.

I really am inept when it comes to this, but I do think that it is reasonable to assume that the entire PC market is behind in Hungary.

Also, waiting is not really an option, because my laptop is about to die if I keep using it this regularly. It is a decent enough laptop - although not for gaming anymore - but I would rather it be functional for a while.

Is the ryzen 1600/1500X with a 4 slot atx B350 mobo cheaper than the 7600k/z170 with cooler? If so, get that. Is the 2600X available there? If it's about the same price, swap that it. Same for the 2400G.

Rx480/580 or gtx 1060 6gb for gpu would do.

Ryzen needs 3000+mhz ram kits. Buy a 2 piece ram kit for dual channel.

Corsair cxm450 / cx450, seasonic 520w 550w or be quiet pure power 10 cm 400w or xfx pro 450 are some cheap psu that I would recommend.

Thank you all for your help. Could you please check what I modified so far?

Modecom Logic H3 computer casing
Corsair 550W VS550 CP-9020050-EU
Intel Core i5-8400 BX80684i58400 processor
Asrock Z370M Pro4 motherboard
Kingston HyperX Fury Black 16GB DDR4 2666MHz HX426C16FB/16 memory
Asus GTX1060 3GB GDDR5 DUAL-GTX1060-O3G video card
Seagate 2TB 64MB SATA3 ST2000DM006
Cooler Master Hyper H411R RR-H411-20PW-R1 processor cooler

Please tell me of something could be improved roughly within this price range.

Thanks!

Fine now except for two things: 1) You must change your PSU, the VS series is low-quality, 2), get a gtx 1060 6gb if it fits in your budget.

I see, thank you again.

There are two builds I am considering right now, are these correct? If yes, which one is better?

Build 1:

Corsair 550W CX550M CP-9020102-EU
Intel Core i5-8400 BX80684i58400
Asrock Z370M Pro4
Kingston HyperX Fury Black 16GB DDR4 2666MHz
Asus GTX1060 6GB GDDR5 DUAL-GTX1060-O6G
Seagate 2TB 64MB SATA3 ST2000DM006
Cooler Master Hyper H411R RR-H411-20PW-R1

Build 2 (differences highlighted):

Corsair 550W CX550M CP-9020102-EU
AMD Ryzen 5 1600X YD160XBCAEWOF
Asrock AB350 Pro4
Corsair 2x8GB DDR4 3000MHz Vengeance LPX
Asus GTX1060 6GB GDDR5 DUAL-GTX1060-O6G
Seagate 2TB 64MB SATA3 ST2000DM006
Cooler Master Hyper H411R RR-H411-20PW-R1

Thanks!

looks way better!

now a better powersupply... I know it wont give you more fps on screen or it isnt shining in that case.
but its for the safety of all of your components, it makes sure everything gets enough juice and stable reliable juice.
also if the electricity drops somehow, your pc will shutdown safely.

corsair cx at least!

Both the ryzen 1600X and 8400 will give you 1080p 60fps. If you have plans on buying a 144hz monitor, then you can sell ur 8400 and swap that in for an 8600k/8700k and a gtx 1070 class gpu or the upcoming 1160/2060 later on.

If you are satisfied with 60fps gaming for the long run, ryzen it is.

But there is also the fact that am4 will be supported till 2020 which means that ryzen 2 7nm will be supported in that b350. Can't say the same or rather I am sure that for the next gen Intel u will need a new mobo.

If the 7nm ryzen is capable of 144hz gaming, going ryzen will be hugely beneficial for you.

Thank you all for your help. I have decided to get build 1. One more question, is it necessary to have Windows 10 for this build? I am using 8.1 and hesitating to upgrade. Do I need to?
