Hello! I've recently had a problem with my pc that I got t know, my motherboard was the problem. However, the repair people did not read the instructions and damaged the motherboard. At that moment, they said the cpu was showing : CPU Overheating during start-up.

Due to that, I am thinking of purchasing a new cpu and motherboard.

Currrently, these are the part I have and I would be grateful if anyone could recommend a cpu + mother board for me within a $500 budget if possible.

GPU: Nvdia Gefore GTX 1060 OC 3GB GDDR5

Ram: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3000MHz C15

SSD : Samsung 850 EVO 500GB 2.5-Inch SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-75E500B/AM)

PSU: EVGA 600 B1, 80+ BRONZE 600W

Please do let me know if I'm missing any information as I'm fairly new to building my own PC.
Thank yo ufellow peeps!

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/YyFzNQ here's what I've come up with the 2600x is an excellent CPU and will give you expandability in the future, I picked the x470 in case you ever want to move up to Ryzen 7 it will help you with overclocking and has more features plus its black so its pretty color neutral, I also threw a 212 evo in case you ever want to overclock its one of the best air coolers on the market and will also help keep all those cores and threads nice and chilly

Would you recommend an Intel setup as I'm a bit more familiar with it.
And I'm trying to get the parts with amazon prime currently.

Is there another motherboard you would recommend which I would be able to get on Amazon?
I am thinking of going with the setup you provided :)

Are you talking out of your behind or you're just a fanboy/hater?

I run a 4770k, if the 7700k is a dead socket, what is mine?

You can easily get a 7700k since it might actually be cooler and a good performance CPU for gaming, regardless of the fact that it's not last generation. Still runs DDR4 and still outperforms AMD in gaming.

"Also, this guys from my other thread recommended this.

Is this fine for a gaming setup?
Thanks a lot! you're being a big help :) "

Yes looks good, even if it's not a i7 which I'd rather recommend, just make sure your case supports ATX, since it's a big board.
