Computer still crashing after several attempts to fix!

Thought I had this resolved. My computer keeps shutting off mid gaming or when I’m watching a stream on twitch. So I had a stock cooler, went out and bought a h60 cooling system and installed it. I made sure to get rid of all of the excess thermal paste and put new paste on. I made sure all of my drivers were updated. I even removed some ram because several places said it randomly works. Last night, worked perfectly fine, was on it for 2 hours and worked just fine. I did have a fan in front of the PC. This morning, I tried gaming without the fan to see what happened and after I finished a game of lol and go out of it,the computer crashed. This has been a pain and I’m just looking for more advice on what to do?

I have a i5 1150 CPU
MSI 390G 4G gpu
Gforce 550 Watts psu
H60 Corsair cooler

Please help!

Hey man, sorry to see that cleaning off the old thermal paste didn't fix it.
1. Can you put what motherboard you have? You said it was a fatal1ty gaming motherboard in the other thread but I need the series too.
2. Were you gaming last night for those 2 hours?
3. Lastly, can you download hwmonitor or cam and screenshot them during a stress test. I use Prime95 to stress test. Let it run for ~45-60 minutes to heat up the water in you cooler. We need to determine if it is still a thermal issue since that is what was causing the shut downs earlier. While it is stress testing, look for anything out of place like super hot gpu or cpu temps, and make sure that the clock speeds are where they should be. It does take a bit to warm the water though so don't be surprised if temps keep rising the whole 45 min.

i was gaming for about a hour and 30 minutes last night. my motherboard is a fatal1ty z87 killer. sadly, just tried to get on and do a stress test, but my computer shut down when i was trying to load chrome. I can tell you that I was monitoring my cpu temps while playing last night and this morning. They were staying at a constant 30-33 degrees on all cores. That is what I am able to tell you. should i let it cool down and try to do a stress test later?

Well, I agree with norcalsc that the PSU is the likely issue. It is often the culprit in random shutdowns, and you are definitely sitting right on the minimum requirement.

However, I also stand by my comment from the original thread that said it could be your VRAM/VRMs overheating on your mobo or gpu. If you put a fan on your computer and were able to game with no issues, then airflow in your pc could be an issue too. Switching to a new liquid cooler wouldn't help because you pretty much have the exact same airflow in the case.

You could try some cooling options like cranking your case fans to max rpm or gaming some more with that same fan pointed at your computer to see if it helps. If not, then you'll probably need to get your hands on a higher wattage psu so that you can run some more tests.
