Hello,

Question. I have an AC1200 router and tp-link powerline adapters to run to my computer because my download speed was terrible.

Im still getting less then 30 mbps from my computer and feel like the whole system just isnt fast enough.
I am thinking about what the best option here is. Should I go to a mesh point system or should i just upgrade the netgear AC1200 to like a nighthawk 1900 or something.

I use it for gaming and streaming movies.

If you are talking about the system BT are pushing; they have had a lot of issues with it, and various firmware updates hadnt fixed it the last time I looked (~3 months ago).

When it works, it works well, however it falls over a lot, and when it falls over, every single Mesh unit has to be shut down and then restarted.

So this is my current speed with,

This router

and my computer is plugged into this powerline adapter

I had to put my router on corner of one end of the house on the first floor and the other end of the house on the second floor is my computer. Probably a good 60 feet. The house is 3000 sq ft.

I feel like with 100 mbps from my provider with a good router and this powerline adapter that acts like an ethernet cable across my house i should have much better speeds then this.

So would a router essentially fix this? or a mesh?

I was thinking of one of these
