My first build, very excited to build it and when it was time to test it, the mothetboard and gpu turned on, the case fans did not and it did not boot into bios, I also think the power switch failed. Here are my specs:

Ryzen5 1600
Gtx 780
Corsair spec 04 tempered glass
Asus prime b350 plus
Corsair rm550x

Please help me figure out what’s wrong soon I want to fix this tomorrow

Thanks.

okay. 2nd thing do you have your monitor plugged into the GPU or the motherboard? It should be plugged into the GPU.

Assuming that wasn't the problem. I'd recommend dissembling the build and starting over from the beginning. Most likely something isn't plugged in right/all the way and you just aren't noticing it. My suspicion is the RAM. As that would explain why the motherboard shows power but isn't doing anything. You can try just one stick of RAM and try it once in every slot to see what happens. Then try again with the other stick.

Other thing to check is that the CPU is seated correctly and that the heatsink is firmly in place too.

I’ve redone everything.
Case fans cpu fans and gpu fan comes on, bios still does not, it only comes on if I short it.
I think the cpu or ram is faulty

Ffs, you think this is why the gpu doesn’t give an output? It does spin when on

hrm possibly. The GPU really shouldn't pull down that much power except when you slam it ingame. That's why you hear people talk about playing games and then have the PC cut out in the middle of an intense scene.

The only way to test this is to get get another GPU. This is a side reason why I like Intel CPUs because they all have iGPU so you do an extra step of troubleshooting.
