My last PC that I built contracted bad virus/malware before I ended up selling most of the parts to add towards this new build. I'm wondering if it's safe to use my K70 Rapidfire keyboard and Scimatar Pro Mouse on the new computer. I'm currently using it on my buddy's barely used desktop and everything seems to be fine but I want to be absolutely sure my new PC won't get infected.

Your PC got viruses/malwares and you sold it as solution?!
If you simply wiped your HDDs completely, no virus can survive such stuff. Linux live CD/USB can be very helpful.
If you are lazy, just destroy the HDD using hammer, chainsaw, strong magnet, metal melting method, etc. but you can still keep the rest.

BTW, you can use the keyboard and mouse...actually anything from your infected PC except the HDD/SSD, if you haven't cleaned it/those.

Everything other than HDD and SSD is safe and doesn't get effected, you should have just fully formatted and clean installed your windows on it. I'm kinda feeling sorry for all that you did :(
But if you want to-the-point answer: YES
