Hey guys I was recently given a Gigabyte GA-p55-ud3l rev2.0 Mobo, I read up that my Xeon x3480 is supported, I would like to overclock the CPU but with my very limited knowledge of knowing how to do this I learned it will have to be through bclk? (No idea about bclk or overclocking) Loads of people say it's not worth it but since most of my money will be going on an Asus dual oc 1060 6gb and a new PC case I don't have the money to upgrade the Mobo or CPU, if anyone can help or even help point me in a direction that would help that would be very much appreciated as this CPU just lacks what I need to run monster Hunter world smoothly and I would very much like to play it.

By "bclk", they mean raising the speed of the FSB (Front Side bus"), as the xeons are multiplier locked.

This doesnt work on all boards and with all RAM/gfx configurations, so how much of an overclock you can achieve varies.

With my daughters Xeon 5450, the very best I could manage was 9%, and then the RAM started throwing errors.

From what I have read, the best verified overclock on this chip is 3.78Ghz, so worth it if your board can manage it.

So with a hyper Evo 212x I should hopefully be able to overclock around 4ghz? I don't want to mess around with bclk in case I mess up I'm only fresh at overclocking, I found out the x3480 has a multiplyer of 24, not entirely sure how it works but if I fiddle with it, it should overclock it?
