>Turned off PC (still pligged in)
>Carefully took out the ram stick to see the model and if the second ram slot was working
>Put it in the second slot
>PC won't start
>Put it back in the first slot
>PC won't start

Won't start means it simply doesn't power up or it just won't boot.
You can start by trying to reset the BIOS. if that doesn't help try blowing some cold air into the slots and maybe clean the ram connector with a clean dry piece of cloth.
