Is overclocked RAM compatible with non-oc Mobos

I have trident z ram clocked at 3200 mhz and was wondering if i could just slot it in out of the box into a H or B chipset mobo.

It'll only run at the speed the board supports then, which I think is either 2400 MHz or 2666 MHz, it won't go higher than that. But it will work.
