Im new to PC gaming and I want to upgrade my fairly old PC with a new CPU that will require (at least I think) a new motherboard. I have a MSI 760GM-P34 motherboard and as far as I know it cannot fit a Ryzen 1600 cpu. So I looked for a motherboard that could fit the 1600 and found one (link below). Then someone online notified me that I could get a ryzen 2600 which costs barely more than the 1600 but is still better. I checked to see if that cpu was compatable with the motherboard I chose and its not because its "BIOS may be outdated" and I dont really know what that means or a solution to it. Should I just get the 1600 because it is instantly compatable? Or do any of you know a motherboard at a reasonable price that can support the 2600 cpu?

Motherboard I was talking about:

If the board you have chosen is from one of the latest batches, it should come with its BIOS updated by default.
If not, your vendor can do it, so you can talk to him about that.
In the unlikely scenario of both the above options not being applicable, you can get a Ryzen Boot Kit free from AMD for updating the BIOS... https://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/2Gen-Ry...

The 2600 is much better and more refined version of the 1600, and it should be your priority.
