Where should I connect my headset to?

Hi, so I'm thinking about buying myself a new headset that comes with 3.5mm stereo and mic plugs, and since I always used to have an USB headset I'm not sure where should I connect my new headset to, in order to have the best sound and mic quality, the motherboard, or the case? Is there even a difference?

In case it matters:
MB: ASRock Z270 Extreme4
Case: Nzxt S340 - USB 3.0

Front Left / Right speakers would normally plug into the Lime Green jack. If you are not using speakers and not going to plug the headset into the case's front jacks, then plug your headphone plug into that green jack on the back. Configure your mobo's sound system to use headphone output, and not something like 5.1 sound you are not using.

There's a couple of considerations, but in your situation, there shouldn't be much difference (if any).

Non-shielded cables can be common enough in cheap cases, potentially resulting in noise for the front panel.

In your situation though, either/or should be fine.... with the front panel likely being more convenient.

I see, I guess I'll just have to see for myself if there's going to be any difference, also, one more question, to which port should I plug my stereo jack in? I know that the mic goes into the pink one, but I'm not too sure about the stereo one.
