Hello! So I'm plannin to upgrade my PC CPU from i3-3220 to an i7-2600k since that's what my socket is(LGA1155), but see here's the question.
I bought this PC as a normal workstation but with a GTX1050TI, so it has a poor motherboard named Hewlett-Packard 3396, so I'm wondering if it'll support my new i7-2600k before I buy it.
Thanks a lot!

Just checked it again, seems like it's supported since the TDP of a i7-2600k is 95w so it seems like it's gonna work! Thanks!

That motherboard, in the link, has a good chipset so it doesn't surprise me that it supports that i7. The 2600k is unlocked but I would not advise overclocking on that motherboard, assuming the bios allows any overclocking to begin with. Then you might be pushing the power demands too far.

Thank you, I plan to buy the i7 soon, but I have no intention of overclocking since I just need it for gaming!
