Hey guys so is installed a graphics card on a computer and after i installed the graphics card i plugged in the cable jack and i got only but static. I tried to uninstall the drivers and reinstall and still got the same thing. The only thing that is working is the USB headphones. Any recommendations? I was thinking that the power supply is maybe not enough? or maybe its because static built up in the motherboard? aren't there 2 little pins that you can switch over and press the power for 30 secs to remove all static? idk im confused right now. If anyone has any input, i really appreciate it.

damn i didn't know installing a graphics card could cause that, what tools do i need to ground myself? If you have any recommendations on a another site. We are planning on building another computer and don't want to risk it.

A ground wrist strap or when you build you can just constantly try to touch a bit of bare skin on a metal part of the case. I build resting my fore-arms on the case edge and only wear a wrist strap when I'm stuck in someones cheapo plastic case.

Try not to touch a board except by the edges or parts that aren't electronic.

Remember that a PC isn't really off unless its switched off on the back of the PSU or unplugged from that wall and you shouldn't work on the inside of a pc unless its off.
