Frustrating keyboard lag/delay in CSGO

Hello everyone.

So, I've been playing CS:GO since I've got this computer (Specs below) and I've never had this problem until exactly May 24th, when I had to reinstall windows due to the boot up files becoming corrupt by some reason, I did a backup of everything tho, and that day I went to play CS:GO again like nothing. That day was when I noticed some odd delay in my keyboard actions, like, the game would sometimes read my key pushes up to an entire second after, it happened online and offline, and only in CS:GO. I've tried to see if I had this problem in any other game, so I've tried many games like Paladins, DoTA 2, TF2, Garry's Mod and like 20 other games and I didn't have any keyboard delay in those games.

I've tried pretty much EVERYTHING, here you have what I've tried:
- Verifying game cache.
- Reinstalling the game.
- Turning off and on V-Sync (both in game and in the Nvidia control panel).
- Turning on and off multicore rendering.
- Limiting and unlimiting FPS (fps_max 144 fps_max 0).
- RESTARTING THE PC.
- RESTARTING THE ROUTER.
- Turning off energy saving or something like that in the device manager.
- Changing keyboard options in the control panel.
- Tried another keyboard (an older Maxell KP-100).
- Installed all available drivers for pretty much everything.
- Connected my keyboard to every single USB port.
- Tried using Razer Cortex.
- It's not overheating (My PC doesn't overheat).
- It's not my FPS (They never go down 80, and are always around 130).
- It's not internet lag (I rarely have any packet loss and/or more than 100ms of ping).

Nothing worked, absolutely nothing. I've asked in reddit, the steam CSGO forum and some other places and nobody could offer me any solution, so maybe here somebody is gonna be able to help me, because this is very frustrating, because of this I can barely play well, somedays the delay isn't that strong but lately it has been really annoying, I'm talking about pressing a single key and moving after an entire second, or pressing various keys at a time and end up going anywhere. I can't play at all like this, I easily get killed, and because of this I might need to stop playing the game after almost 900 hours because of a weird problem that I can't solve.

My specs:

- Pentium G4400 3.3 GHz Dual Core
- GTX 1050 Dual Fan 2GB OC
- Crucial 2x4GB DDR4 2133Mhz
- MSI H110M Pro VH-Plus
- WDC WD10EZEX-21WN4A0 1TB (Western Digital Blue)
- Noga NKB-909 / Maxell KP-100 (Keyboards)
- Windows 10 Pro 64-Bits

Thanks for any help.

Solution
Good on ya

Could have been either of those three.

Administrative permission for better prioritising

Directx for peripheral wrapper for keyboard/mouse

Verifying game cache is a maybe since it was done twice, once should have been enough but ya never know i guess.

If it's just csgo then id guess it's win10 related. Do you remember if you disabled fullscreen optimisation for csgo last time?

There's two ways to disable fullscreen optimisation, try both ways. Either be disabling win10's Game Bar or check disable fullscreen optimisation in the compatibility tab of csgo's exe.

Fullscreen optimisation is a borderless windowed mode feature that is on by default and can cause input lag.

As for the boot records missing/corrupt issue, you didn't happen to remove a second hdd? Win10 likes to put boot records on other drives if have multiple connected.

1. I've disabled windows game bar and now I've disabled fullscreen optimization, I'm going to bed now but I'll let you know if it worked tomorrow once I try it.

2. It's not the first time I had to reinstall windows because of this, it would happen because I would restart the PC many times in the login screen, because of a tiny problem I had with my monitor, it doesn't happen randomly, just when I restart my PC too many times in a short period of time, which is understandable I guess.

I have an old LG Flatron W1943SE, it's a VGA so I had to get a VGA-HDMI Adapter that is connected to the GPU, sometimes when I reach the log in screen everything goes black, but I can easily fix it by just re-connecting the HDMI adapter, after that it doesn't give me more problems. I'm going to get an HDMI monitor sometime soon anyways.

And also, I think fullscreen optimisation was the problem, I've disabled it and played some matches and I could hardly feel any lag, so I think that did the trick, thanks a lot :)

Np. Keep an eye on Game bar and Fullscreen Optimisation, sometimes after major updates they can revert settings.

Hdmi vga adapters is another signal process and they too can add some input latency. Might not be noticeable or might've got used to it if there is a bit. A hdmi monitor would be an improvement.

Yeah that's the problem, the VGA-HDMI adapter is kinda shitty, but it's not hard to deal with, it does its work.

And by the way, I've managed to fix the keyboard delay problem, I'm not completely sure which of these fixed the issue but one should have been:

1. Execute CSGO and Steam as admin.
2. Reinstall DirectX
3. Verify game cache, twice.
