Greetings everyone,
I'm writing with hope that someone can help with a problem.Let me begin by saying that the machine is a quite new HP Pavillion 17 with intel graphics 630 and Nvidia 1050TI.The plan is to use this mainly for gaming but other stuff aswell. So now I will get into more details what really is the issue right here.
It seems that while I'm playing on the laptop at random intervals I receive huge FPS drops which really ruin my gaming experience. What really is happening is that while playing Im using the Nvidia graphics as main unit and the intel one also works on low % (shown in the Task Manager). So what I've investigated these fps drops occur for a short time and the reason for them in my opinion is that for some reason I think the laptop starts prioritizing the intel graphics for a short period and then switches back to full power on the nvidia and FPS goes back to normal. Now I have tested this on 2 games which are Dota 2 and World of Warships.I'm experiencing the problem on both having drops from 120 FPS to 20 for a little time but its really troublesome.I have checked the temperatures and its not an overheating issue and also Ive made the needed changes to the settings both in the Nvidia control panel and in the Intel one aswell. As Im writing this today I found out that I cannot update the intel graphics driver with a new version because it says the driver is not compatible with the processor which was a complete shock as my processor is in the list with ones that could use the update.
Any help would be greatly appreciated and thank you for your time reading this!

As far as I know you can disable the intel HD in the bios so it won't be used at all. You could try that?

Sadly I cannot do that because the BIOS does not have and advanced tab therefore I cannot disable the Intel HD.I
searched everything but did not find a way to enable that tab in the BIOS as it seems the manufacturer removed it on purpose.

Laptop's with discrete gpus do actually pass through igpu to output video. You may be right about igpu being used sometimes as both are dynamically used independently depending on needs.

Dynamic usage is based on power plans in Windows and NvidiaCP. You can set it to balance and the system will provide reasonable performance while saving power and if that means alternating graphics while doing so it will. If you set to prefer maximum performance in Nvidia Cp and Windows then everything is at full throttle no exception forcing discrete graphics always.

I have tired that and managed all the possible options in the both NvidiaCP and in the Intel properties and there is no result at all :(
