DVI-D no signal

I have an Asus VG248QE 144hz monitor, but I can't use a display port (I won't get into that) and when I want to connect a DVI-D cable to my pc the monitor just says DVI - No Signal... Any help guys?

The thing is my computer supports DVI-D and I have a DVI port in my monitor so why wouldn't it work? Doesn't make any sense... Maybe something in the BIOS? *Not using any adapter
