I need help cloning my c:/ OS partition (not the whole drive) to another drives partiotion (unallocated partition.
Disk 2
OS Drive (WD WD800JD-75MSA3 80GB-$20)
Partition 1
c:/ 80gig in size with 2gig left to use.
There's another partition here for
recovery 20gig. Total drive space
100gig.

Disk 1
Gaming/Steam Drive (been using this for a while) 2TB (WD Black 2TB (2013)-$109)
Partition 1
d:/ want to clone os to this partition. 250gig. Unallocated Space here.
e:/ Steam and gaming partition. All the rest of the space is here. About 500Gig left on here. ( so many games gotta have them all, hehehe).

A lot of info. I wanted to make sure you knew that I wanted to clone the OS partition and not the whole drive to another drives partition with out getting rid of the e:/
All the videos and guides that I found only cloned a whole OS drive to another drive and it formats the whole drive. Not a good thing if you want to keep the files on the drives other partition.

D:\ bootable OS

The drive that my OS is on is over 12 or more years old and very slow... I want to move the OS to the D:\ unallocated space and make that bootable so I can get rid of the old dive...

SOme of the Disk Managment apps won't let me do this. It keeps trying to wipe the whole drive )WD Black 2TB (2013)-$109

That will not work the way you desire.
We can probably get you to a viable end result, but some questions first.

Disregarding "drive letters"...

What physical drives do you have?
What partitions are on these drives?
What is in each of these partitions?

A screencap of your Disk Management window would help here.

Just found this post and it answered my question...

Cloning 3 Partitions on A Drive Onto 1 single Partition

The problem was that most Disk Managment/Clone apps only clone from disk to disk... They won't let Clone from Partitions to another drives partitions.... I downloaded Macrium Reflect Free edition and it solve my problem...

I think most people think Disk and partition means the same thing. Most videos and guides use Clone OS to Partition titles instead of Clone OS to Disk which is what they are doing. Dis to Disk... Now you have to repair the MBR for the computer to boot to the drive or just remove the old drive...

Thanks for help guys.. I'm going to make a video on this so others that have that the same issue and can get help

It would be a lot easier to just get a new drive for the OS and clone the disk to that. Since the drive is so small, you can get a 120 gb SSD or a 250 GB one and clone the disk to that. Will be better than trying to get things working in a different partition on the other drive. Since you use Steam, there are instructions on their support site how to move games to a new Windows setup without having to re-download them again. Plus it keeps any accidental issues like wiping the drive by accident to a minimum.
