Hi all! I am interested in buying an NZXT S340 Elite case as I think the tempered glass side panel looks awesome. I currently have an NZXT H440 which has 3 front intake fans and 1 exhaust. As the S340 only comes with 2 exhaust fans included, would I be able to take fans from my current case and use them as intake on the S340?

Also, my current case has a fan hub and therefore no fans are directly connected to my motherboard, except my CPU cooler (be quiet! Dark Rock 3) and the fan hub itself. My motherboard is an Asus Z170 Pro Gaming and I was wondering if it has enough fan headers for 2 exhaust + 2 intake + CPU cooler as I am not too sure about some of the headers on the motherboard. The motherboard has 3 CHA_FAN headers but there is also a ROG_EXT at the bottom which has a 4 pin header on the left which looks like it could be used for a fan. Is this header usable as a fan header? Here is a screenshot of the motherboard layout: https://i.imgur.com/oVjCMjg.png

Any help is appreciated, thanks

ROG_EXT header is used to connect Asus ROG Front Base,
specs: https://www.asus.com/Motherboard-Accessory/ROG_Front_Base/

Do read your MoBo manual though, it's all explained there. E.g ROG_EXT explanation is found in page 1-23. Same goes with fan headers which are covered in page 1-21.

With 5x total fan headers and while using Y-splitters, you can double the amount of fans your MoBo can support.
Y-splitter at amazon (2x in box): https://www.amazon.com/Noctua-NA-SYC1-Accessory-4-pin-Y-Cables/dp/B00KG8K5CY

Also, if you have stock fans in your H440 then you can carry half of them over to S340 without issue, leaving 2x 120mm fan as a spare. Since H440 comes with 3x 120mm and 1x 140mm while S340 comes with 2x 120mm. Since S340 supports up to 4x fans and it already has 2x fans, you can move over 2x fans. Fan layout could be as follows:
Front - 2x 120mm intake - with Y-splitter to CHA_FAN1
Top - 1x 120/140mm exhaust - CHA_FAN2
Rear - 1x 120mm exhaust - CHA_FAN3
Dark Rock 3 - CPU_FAN

Or when setting up without Y-splitters:
Front - 1x 120mm intake - CHA_FAN1
Front - 1x 120mm intake - CHA_FAN2
Top - 1x 120/140mm exhaust - CPU_OPT
Rear - 1x 120mm exhaust - CHA_FAN3
Dark Rock 3 - CPU_FAN
Note: top fan would follow CPU temps since it's plugged to CPU_OPT header
