i currently have a gtx 1050 and im upgrading to a gtx 1060 6gb. Do i have to uninstall the 1050 drivers, before putting in my 1060 or will it be fine out of the box

Solution
I'd download the newest 1060 drivers, then install the new card. When you boot up to Windows, install the new drivers using the advanced custom install that allows you to choose a 'clean' installation. Other than laziness, there's no reason not to start with a clean installation of drivers. It's not like you have to pay for more drivers.

No, you can boot using the old driver. It will probably start out in generic mode until the OS finally updates the driver. Or you can simply run the .exe file again to do a manual install. While it is always cleanest to do a fresh driver install (latest), you can live w/o doing that.

Man, not me. When I swap cards (Nvidia), Win starts in generic mode and after a few moments either switches to the proper driver or asks to reboot. (Win7 and Win 10 act a little differently)
