So today I did a fresh install of windows 10 on an ssd. Beforehand I unplugged all other drives from my pc. I then set the priority boot to the SSD and booted my pc. When I go to the desktop my resolution was all messed up and figured I had to install the video card drivers. So I went to NVIDIA's site and it would not let me install the drivers and stated that my card wasn't supported. I then went to the device manager and my video card wasn't even showing up even though it was outputting video to the monitor. I switched and booted to old HDD and everything worked fine.

Solution
When you do a clean install of the OS, you need to install all the motherboard drivers and controllers too. What will be happening is the PCIe controllers won't be configure correctly to recognize the graphics card, so you need the motherboard drivers installed first then you can do the graphic drivers.
