I'm building inside an ITX case, and I want to run a 200mm fan and an 80mm fan off of the same fan header. Will doing this make the 80mm fan run faster than the 200mm? Or will the fans always have the same speed?

Comparing a 200mm fan to an 80mm fan is like comparing an elephant to an ant. Fans will spin faster or slower depending on how much power you give them. Hook those fans up to a lab power supply and crank up the power and watch them spin 10x faster than they were meant to.

All I can say is that both fans will probably run without issue, but will they have the same speed? Probably not. Back the the elephants and ants, the elephant may win the race over the ant, but the and moves it's legs faster. Kinda the same deal with the fans.

Thanks for your comments, I will use a resistor cable for the 80mm fan.

you don't want the small fan spinning slower because it will move less air. Why would you wan't them spinning at the same RPM?
