my motherboard keeps beeping when i startup with a new memory stick installed saying "the amount of memory has changed." with an option to just boot, go into BIOS, or run a diagnostic. I ran the diagnostic, and it said "all good." but I'm kind of frightened to start it up. When checking BOIS to make sure it recognized the ram, it did. The RAM is seated correctly and everything is clean too, is this just a compatibility issue?

The new stick is a 4GB 2Rx4 PC3-10600R
Motherboard is a dell 09KPNV

There are four old ram sticks, 3 of which are running in triple channel, with an additional fourth one, each is 2GB, total 8GB.

I will also mention that the old and new ram both are PC3-10600R with 1333 MT/s data rate. The voltage is also the same.

Solution
Double check your old RAM to see they are the 1R type or the 2R. Also you said the new one is the 4GB 2Rx4, and the old are 2GB, so when you mixed the RAM, sometime you will get problem.

And you can try to clear the CMOS first, then install RAM in exactly configurations that dell recommended http://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/04/sln288863/precision-workstation-t3500-memory-specifications-and-configurations?lang=en

If you still have problem, and it is the compatibility issue, nothing you can do. Usually you should try use the memory finder to buy the RAM for OEM computer, like from
