Hi,

I wanted to switch back to my other motherboard so I could overclock my cpu. When I hooked everything up, I booted my pc and my screen had no display even though everything had power and the fans were spinning.

How do I know if the motherboard is faulty or if something else is causing the problem?

I tried that, didn't work.
The rams should be working, because they were on my other motherboard and I had no problem running the pc.

What is the name of your motherboard and RAM? The RAM may work in one motherboard, but is not compatible in another.

Motherboard: https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/Z97P/overview/ ( Asus z97-p )
Ram: https://www.gskill.com/en/product/f3-17000cl11d-8gbxl ( G.SKILL Rip jaws F3-17000CL11D-8GBXL )

This motherboard used to work fine with these components, but when I switched back to it to overclock my cpu, it just doesn't show any display all of the sudden.

Have you cleared the CMOS?

I think i have. I removed the battery and left it out for like 10 to 15 minutes then put it back in.

Try setting the RAM speed to 1600MHz in he BIOS. Anything higher on this motherboard is considered an overclock.

4 x DIMM, Max. 32GB, DDR3 3200(O.C.)/3100(O.C.)/3000(O.C.)/2933(O.C.)/2800(O.C.)/2666(O.C.)/2600(O.C.)/2400(O.C.)/2250(O.C.)/2200(O.C.)/2133(O.C.)/2000(O.C.)/1866(O.C.)/1600/1333 MHz Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory

Do i set the RAM speed to 1600Mhz in the BIOS for my other motherboard ( MSI H97 GAMING 3 )? I cannot reach the BIOS at all on the Asus one because it's giving me a blank screen when I boot the pc.
