Custom loop pump stopped working

Hi! I'm quite the noob to all of this but I have a basic understanding of computers. I have built a couple of pc's in the past, all cooled using fans. But this time I decided to make a custom loop.

So I come home. Set everything up and it works just fine. But after a while I noticed that my resovoir/pump combo had leaked a little. I turned the computer off cleaned everything and made sure that everything was tight . I start it up again and it works just fine for about half an hour before the entire computer freezes and I'm forced to force it to shut down by holding the power button.

After I shut it down I notice that the resovoir/pump combo had leaked a small amount again. It didn't continue to leak after the computer was shut down. Now here comes the big issue. I thought I found my culprit which was one of the fittings so I change it out and try to start the computer once more. But this time the pump doesn't turn on and the bios doesn't detect it. And the computer refuses to start of course as I have the pump connected to the CPU fan slot.

So now I'm stuck. I don't know what the issue with the pump is and I really don't know what to do. I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with software or any other components as it worked earlier.

This might be a bit far fetched but I suspect that the pump is a defect? As it kept leaking from one side and it was making a clicky noise which I brushed off thinking it was just the air bubbles making their way through the pump. But I really don't see how any water damage could have happened as its no where near anything else and I also cannot see a reason why the bios wouldn't be able to detect it / why it doesn't work. I do know that if I remove it from the CPU fan slot it should go full blast but it still doesn't even turn on.

So in conclusion if anyone has had this problem or knows what might be going on please help.

I've tried almost everything I can though short of draining the system and disassembling the resovoir / pump combo.

The combo is an ekwb EK-EXRES 100 DDC 3.2 PMW Elite

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Solution
Sounds very much like a faulty pump, leaks and noises are a dead giveaway here.
You have connected both the PWM and Molex leads?

Yeah. The pwm is on CPU fan and the molex is plugged into the powersupply
