Hello :)
I am very annoyed at my PC right now. :/
Whenever i start a game on my PC, windows crashes. The screen goes either white, black or a different color. When it does this, Windows is unusable.
I have to hit the restart on my PC every time this happens. When the crash occurs I get a message from windows that says 'display driver failed to start'. I have googled it and i can't seem to find out what is happening. People say that you should update drivers but my drivers are up to date and I have even tried to reinstall the driver.
I checked the reliability history and it said the problem's name is 'LiveKernelEvent'.
My PC works when i use less demanding stuff like browsing Firefox and having normal programs open. This all started happening after i tried to run Just Cause 3 on my PC. It has never done it before Just Cause 3.
Do you know what's wrong?
My specs:
Pentium G4560
MSI B250M PRO VD
MSI GTX 1050 TI OC 4GB
8 GB RAM
Corsair 550 CX PSU

Solution
Could be the GPU, but your CPU idle temp is too hot at 60C. If that hot at idle, it will certainly spike up much more under load.

Try removing the GTX and use your integrated video controller to compare performance and to isolate the issue.

I downloaded and bought Just Cause 3 of Steam.

I have scanned for malware and it didn't find anything.

All my drivers are up to date.

I tried starting GTA V and other games and my PC still crashes. I don't have a benchmarking app.

At idle, my CPU is about 40-60c and my GPU is about 30c. Now under load i don't really know because before i can see, my PC crashes.

I'm using the stock heatsink.

Make sure all of the mounting pins are properly attached and locked into place.

Personally, I would replace that heatsink with a much better performing (and mounted) aftermarket device (like a CRYORIG H7 for example). I have never been a fan of Intel OEM heatsinks.

Ok, thank you. But it think the problem here is with the GPU? Because i've never had CPU related problems and LiveKernelEvent error seems to point towards a GPU problem. Plus the display driver stopped working message. So i think it might have something to do with the GPU?
